Extending Vendor Controller Singleton in Laravel (LaravelUsers)
I'm simply trying to add a field to the laravelusers package that allows me to add a company to the users. I've done the usual steps of adding the field to the fillable array in my model and I've modified the vendor published view files to include my new field appropriately. I have doublechecked that the field is being passed in the headers via the console.
Unfortunately, the base controller of this vendor package specifically creates by field name and 'company' isn't one of them - so I figured I'd just need to create the controller anew and extend the vendor controller in order to override the store method.
Aka:
use jeremykenedyLaravelUsersControllersUsersManagementController as BaseUsersManagementController;
class UsersManagementController extends BaseUsersManagementController
And then replace this function:
public function store(Request $request)
However, this controller appears to be registered via a service provider that instantiates it with the following code:
$this->app->make('jeremykenedylaravelusersAppHttpControllersUsersManagementController');
$this->app->singleton(jeremykenedylaravelusersAppHttpControllersUsersManagementControllerUsersManagementController::class, function () {
return new AppHttpControllersUsersManagementController();
});
$this->app->alias(UsersManagementController::class, 'laravelusers');
How can I hook into this registration call and extend it to look at my new controller's method over this base controller's method to allow the new field to be processed via my own controller?
Thanks for the assistance.
