Invoke-Command with SQL Server Management Smo object
Pretty sure I'm missing something simple. The following command works while logged in, but does not work remotely. I am outputting to a text file for testing. The text file is blank when I run the lines below remotely.
[System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName('Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo') | Out-Null;
(New-Object Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Server 'xxservernamexx').JobServer.Jobs |
Select-Object @{Name='Server'; Expression={$_.Parent.Name}},Name,LastRunDate > c:test.txt
There are no errors thrown and syntax is correct. I feel like this is likely something to do with permissions, but I don't know enough about Windows etc. to be able to figure it out.
WinRM shows Kerberos is enabled.
Solution:
I didn't realise I was logged in as Administrator to run the command on the server. When logging into the server with my own un/pw I had the same problem: no output.
Changed Invoke-Command
to run from an admin session and problem solved.
sql-server powershell invoke-command
