Make an attachment field (image) display in a report depending on another condition

0

I have a MS Access query that goes like this:

SELECT PREZENTA_ANGAJATI.NUME, DELEGATI.SEMNATURA.FileData,
PREZENTA_ANGAJATI.PREZENT
FROM DELEGATI
INNER JOIN PREZENTA_ANGAJATI ON DELEGATI.NUME = PREZENTA_ANGAJATI.NUME

DELEGATI.SEMNATURA.FileData is attachment field (contains saved signature scan) and PREZENTA_ANGAJATI.PREZENT is boolean (Y/N).

In the report based on this query, I want the signature image (DELEGATI.SEMNATURA.FileData) to be displayed only if PREZENT is True.
I haven't been able to:

1) put an IIF condition in the control source of the attachment field. It either displays the selected query field, or nothing else.

2) put some VBA code to toggle the .visible property of said attachment field. I keep getting errors.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

  • What are the errors? Why even bother with code to set Visible property - if there is nothing retrieved per the IIf expression, then nothing shows anyway. However, I don't think a conditional expression in Image ControlSource property will work with an Attachment field. The image would have to be an external file. So, eliminate the IIf() and use code in Format event for setting Visible property. Be aware Format event only triggers for PrintPreview or direct to printer, not ReportView. Edit question to post code.
