OpenCV Android fine-tune thresholding

I'm trying to detect a line on an Android-smartphone. I also need to know which pixels come first and which come last. So I need to detect the line with my own algorithm, and therefore I need to get a binary image. I tried different things (threshold, adaptive threshold with and without gaussian, median blur) but I wasn't able to get it right. I always get that 'whole'. Do you have suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
