Multi-ply custom build steps in MSVC

0

Ahoj, I am using MSVC2017 and I have a project with 2 custom build steps. My question is how to accomplish that one failing step would imply failure of whole project build? If command_1 exits with status code 255 and command_2 exits with 0, MSVC reports project build as succeeded. But if I run only command_1 than it fails with:

error MSB6006: "cmd.exe" exited with code 255.

Definition in project file:

<ItemGroup>
<CustomBuild Include="...">
<Command>command_1</Command>
</CustomBuild>
<CustomBuild Include="...">
<Command>command_2</Command>
</CustomBuild>
</ItemGroup>
