Difference between these 2 implementation of TabLayout and ViewPager
I am following a tutorial on how to use PagerAdapter with a TabLayout.
The tutorial itself linked me to an official video from Google:
Tabs and ViewPager.
However, their final code is slightly different than the one in the video and I'd like to know what's the differences?
In the video, the code used is:
ViewPager viewPager = (ViewPager) findViewById(R.id.view_pager);
PagerAdapter pagerAdapter = new FixedTabsPagerAdapter(getSupportFragmentManager());
viewPager.setAdapter(pagerAdapter);
TabLayout tabLayout = (TabLayout) findViewById(R.id.tab_layout);
tabLayout.setupWithViewPager(viewPager);
and the code used in the tutorial (which I am using now and is working) is:
ViewPager viewPager = (ViewPager) findViewById(R.id.view_pager);
TabsAdapter adapter = new TabsAdapter(this, getSupportFragmentManager());
viewPager.setAdapter(adapter);
TabLayout tabLayout = (TabLayout) findViewById(R.id.tabs);
tabLayout.setupWithViewPager(viewPager);
Nearly identical, but one is using FixedTabsPagerAdapter.

BothFixedTabsPagerAdapterandTabsAdapterare customPagerAdapterimplementations. You'll have to determine which – if either – is suitable to your design. We can't tell you, as we have no idea what your design is, or what those particular implementations do.
