How to get global data area in C on Windows with Visual C++?

0

I am doing an assignment of implementing a conservative GC in C. Due to historical course requirements, we are still using Visual C++ 6.0. It requires us to scan the pointers saved in global data area and doesn't provide code for this compiler. How do I get the upper and lower bounds of the global data area in this environment?

  • I followed the instructions but couldn't solve the problem of including DbgHelp.h. And it seems Windows doesn't provide the SDK anymore. Are there simpler ways to do this?

  • may be, parse compiled file and find linker headers that contains such information
