how can i fix 403 error hosting node.js app on CPanel
I have Cpannel with a godaddy domain. The app starts fine, node and npm are installed properly and there are 0 errors in the npm log. However when I try to visit my domain I get
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I've only ever hosted on heroku before which is much more straightforward. I tried my hand at writing a .htcaccess file which looks as below
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^$ http://127.0.0.1:49555/ [P,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://127.0.0.1:49555/$1 [P,L]
My server.js is successfully pointing to 49555. So I don't know why mt .htcaccess file isn't redirecting the domain to the app. I thought it mat be a permissions error but I just went through and checked every file in my application and I have them all at execute.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm really struggling with this
