How to have Form and Results in the same page (GET/POST routing)
.everyoneloves__top-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__mid-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__bot-mid-leaderboard:empty{ height:90px;width:728px;box-sizing:border-box;
}
I have a question for you.
I use ExpressJS and Pug template engine to do a little application. I create a form and I send the form values on POST method. After some processing, I want to display results in the same page (form page).
index.pug (client-side)
form(method='POST' action='/comparetable/results')
div.form-group
label(for="libelle") Libellé
input(
type="text"
class="form-control"
name="libelle"
id= "libelle"
value=libelle? libelle : ""
)
if(data)
if data.length == 0
p No errors
else
table.table
thead
tr
td(scope="col" class="font-weight-bold") Ligne
tbody
each dataRow in data
tr
td= dataRow["ligne"]
app.js (server-side)
app.get('/comparetable', function (req, res, next) {
res.render('compare', {
libelle : req.body.libelle,
data: (req.outputArray? req.outputArray : null)
});
});
app.post('/comparetable/results', function (req, res, next) {
const libelle = req.body.libelle;
// some processing
// input : libelle (a string)
// output : outputArray (an array with data)
req.outputArray = outputArray;
res.redirect('/comparetable');
})
In client-side, I have a form that send values comparetable/results in POST method, and the display of results if data is defined.
In server-side, I have two routes : a get (that render template with data) and post (that do processing and redirect to get method for display).
The goal is to have one template (client-side) and one rendering function/route (server-side). Currently, it doesn't work. Someone to help me, please ?
