Unable to create new entry on ldap using spring data ldap

0

Following this tutorial i created a simple spring boot application to handle CRUD operations on openldap server.
I'm able to read and modify entry, however when i try to create a new one i have this error:

javax.naming.directory.SchemaViolationException: [LDAP: error code 65 - attribute 'cn' not allowed]

My knowledge about LDAP is really limited so i don't understand why, if the modify operation is correct, the create operation causes a SchemaViolationException.

My ldap schema is:

dn: dc=example,dc=org
objectClass: organization
objectClass: dcObject
objectClass: top
dc: department
o: Dept

dn: ou=users,dc=example,dc=org
objectClass: top
objectClass: organizationalUnit
ou: users

dn: cn=jhon,ou=users,dc=example,dc=org
objectClass: organizationalPerson
objectClass: inetOrgPerson
objectClass: top
objectClass: person
cn: jhon
sn: snow

thank you for any suggestion

  • It sounds strange, rfc4519 do specify a person object class entry must have a cn attribute. What directory is it ? How do you add/modify entries ?
