“Unknown custom element: ” when putting NativeScript Vue template in separate file

0

I'm trying to separate my Vue template and TypeScript into separate files (to make it work better with the IDE).

When I run the app I get this error even though I don't declare a <div> element anywhere in the template.

It works fine when I put the template and code in the same file.

JS: '{NSVue (Vue: 2.5.17 | NSVue: 2.0.2)} -> CreateElement(NativeFrame)'
JS: [Vue warn]: Error compiling template:
JS:
JS: App.html
JS:
JS: - Component template requires a root element, rather than just text.
JS:
JS:
JS: found in
JS:
JS: ---> <App>
JS: <Frame>
JS: <Root>
JS: [Vue warn]: Unknown custom element: <div> - did you register the component correctly? For recursive components, make sure to provide the "name" option.

TypeScript File: App.ts

import Vue from 'vue';
import Component from 'vue-class-component';
@Component({ template: 'App.html' })
export default class App extends Vue {
msg = 'Hello TS World!';
}

Template: App.html

<template>
<Page>
<ActionBar title="Welcome to NativeScript-Vue!"/>
<GridLayout columns="*" rows="*">
<Label class="message" :text="msg" col="0" row="0"/>
</GridLayout>
</Page>
</template>

There are no other templates anywhere in the app yet. If I put them together as a single file, this works:

Thanks!

  • I don't think having components in a standalone HTML file is even supported by Vue.
